It is believed that Mata Sita was born on Tuesday in Pushya Nakshatra. Goddess Sita was married to Lord Rama. Lord Rama was also born on the Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. Sita Jayanti falls a month after Ram Navami in the Hindu calendar. This year on March 30, the festival of Ram Navami was celebrated. Mother Janaki was the daughter of King Janak of Mithila, hence this day is also known as Janaki Navami.
It is a religious belief that Mata Sita is the form of Mata Lakshmi. Therefore, by worshiping Mata Sita on this special day, Mata Lakshmi herself becomes pleased and blesses the seeker with all kinds of happiness.
