Ganpati story - Ganpati ki Katha

There lived a brother and a sister. The sister had a rule that she would eat only after seeing her brother's face. Every day she would wake up in the morning and after finishing all her work quickly she would go to her brother's house to see his face. One day on the way there was an idol of Ganesh ji placed under a peepal tree. She folded her hands in front of God and said give everyone an eternal husband like me and an eternal in-laws like me. Saying this she would move ahead. The thorns of the bushes in the forest kept pricking her feet.

One day she reached her brother's house and sat down after looking at her brother's face, then the sister-in-law asked what happened to her feet. On hearing this she replied to the sister-in-law that the thorns fallen from the bushes in the forest on the way have got stuck in her feet. When she came back to her house then the sister-in-law told her husband to get the path cleared, a lot of thorns had pricked your sister's feet. The brother then took an axe and cleared the path by cutting all the bushes. Due to this the place of Ganesh ji also moved from there. Seeing this God got angry and took away the life of her brother.

When people were taking the brother for the last rites, his sister-in-law started crying and asked the people to wait for a while, her sister was about to come. She can't help but see her brother's face. This is her rule. Then people said that she would see today but how would she see tomorrow? Like every day, the sister went to the forest to see her brother's face. Then in the forest, she saw that the whole path had been cleared. When she moved ahead, she saw that Siddhivinayak had also been removed from there. Then before going, she placed Ganesh ji at a good place and gave him a place and said with folded hands, God, give everyone an eternal husband like me and an eternal in-laws like me, and then after saying this she went ahead.

Then God started thinking that if he did not listen to her then who would believe us, who would worship us? Then Siddhivinayak called her, daughter, take these seven leaves of Khejri and mix them in raw milk and sprinkle it on your brother, he will get up and sit. Hearing this, when the sister turned back, there was no one there. Then she started thinking okay I will do as I heard. Then she reached her brother's house with 7 Khejri leaves. She saw many people sitting there. Bhabhi was sitting and crying and their brother's dead body was lying there. Then she used those leaves on her brother as per the rule. Then the brother got up and sat. The brother told the sister that I had fallen into a very deep sleep. Then the sister said that even an enemy should not fall into this sleep and she told the whole thing to her brother. Birth of Ganesha Story

According to the story of Ganesh Chaturthi, Mother Parvati, before going for a bath, created a beautiful child from the dirt of her body and named him Ganesh. Parvati ordered the child not to let anyone come inside, saying this Parvati went inside to take a bath. When Lord Shiva came there, the child stopped him from coming inside and said my mother is taking a bath inside, you cannot go inside. Shivji explained a lot to Ganeshji that Parvati is my wife. But Ganeshji did not agree, then Shivji got very angry and he cut Ganeshji's neck with his trident and went inside, when Parvatiji saw Shivji inside, she said how did you come inside? I had left Ganesh sitting outside. Then Shivji said that I killed him. Then Parvatiji assumed a fierce form and said I will leave from here only when you bring my son back to life, otherwise not.

Shivji tried a lot to convince Parvatiji but Parvatiji did not agree. All the gods gathered and tried to convince Parvati ji but she did not agree. Then Shiv ji asked Vishnu ji to bring the head of a child whose mother was sleeping with her back towards her child. Vishnu ji immediately ordered Garuda ji to search for such a child and bring his neck. After a lot of searching by Garuda ji, he found a female elephant who was sleeping with her back towards her child. Garuda ji immediately took the head of that child and came to Shiv ji. Shiv ji placed that head on Ganesh ji and gave him life, and also gave him the boon that from today onwards, in any puja that will be performed anywhere, Ganesh ji will be worshipped first. Therefore, whatever work we do, we should worship Ganesh ji first, otherwise the puja will not be successful.
