In the year 2008-09 also he was a member of Memnagar Municipality. After this, in the year 2019-20, he was elected as the President of Memnagar Municipality. Bhupendrabhai Patel has also been the Vice-Chairman of the School Board of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) from 2001 to 2010.
In the year 2010, Bhupendra Patel became the Ward Councilor of Thaltej Ward and remained in the post till 2015. Along with this, he was also the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) from 2010 to 2015.
Subsequently, in the year 2015, the party made him the chairman of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA). During his 2-year tenure in this post, Bhupendra Patel implemented the schemes of government in the development of the city.
