Story of Maa Chandraghanta
Pleased with the penance of Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva promised to accept her as his wife. When Lord Shiva arrived with a procession to marry Goddess Parvati, then along with his Ganas, ghosts, creatures, animals, Aghori-Tantriks, etc. also came in his procession. Seeing whom everyone got scared.
Goddess Parvati's mother Maina was horrified to see lord Shiva's procession and decided not to marry her daughter. Then Goddess Parvati agreed to the marriage after persuading her mother and family members. After that, she came in Chandraghanta form to meet Lord Shiva.
