Story of Maa Chandraghanta

Pleased with the penance of Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva promised to accept her as his wife. When Lord Shiva arrived with a procession to marry Goddess Parvati, then along with his Ganas, ghosts, creatures, animals, Aghori-Tantriks, etc. also came in his procession. Seeing whom everyone got scared.

Goddess Parvati's mother Maina was horrified to see lord Shiva's procession and decided not to marry her daughter.
