  • Get up early on Wednesday morning and first of all clean your house.

  • Then take a bath and wear green clothes.

  • After this, worship Lord Ganesha.

  • Offer incense, lamp, camphor, sandalwood, and flowers to Lord Ganesha.

  • Make sure to offer Durva grass to Lord Ganesha.

  • Chant Lord Ganesha's mantras.

  • Perform Ganesh Aarti.

  • Do not forget to read Wednesday Vrat Katha.

  • Finally, offer Laddu to Lord Ganesha.



Budhvar Ki Katha - Wednesday Vrat Katha



According to the story, a man named Madhusudan lived in Samtapur Nagar. He was married to Sangeeta from nearby Balrampur. She was beautiful and well-mannered. One day Madhusudan reached his in-laws' house to bring his wife with him and insisted on sending her off on the same day. That day was Wednesday, everyone explained not to travel on Wednesday, but he did not agree. Then Sangeeta's family members sent him off.


Both of them sat in a bullock cart and left. Then on the way, a wheel of the bullock cart broke, then both of them started traveling on foot. Meanwhile, Sangeeta felt thirsty. Madhusudan went to get water. When he brought water, he saw that a lookalike of his was sitting with his wife.


He asked the lookalike who he was. On this, he said that he was Madhusudan and Sangeeta was his wife. Then Madhusudan told the lookalike that he was lying, he had gone to get water. Then that lookalike said that he had even brought water and had also given it to his wife.


Now both of them started fighting over Sangeeta being the real wife. Then the king's soldiers came there. They asked Sangeeta who her real husband was, then she could not answer because she was in a dilemma. On this, the soldiers presented them in the king's court. After listening to the whole thing, the king ordered to put both of them in prison.


Then Madhusudan got scared and remembering Budhdev, started asking for forgiveness. Then there was a voice from the sky that Madhusudan! You did not listen to your father-in-law and his family, you traveled on Wednesday. All this is happening because Lord Budhdev is angry.


Then Madhusudan said that O Maharaj! He has made a big mistake. He will never travel on Wednesday. He will always fast on Wednesday. On apologizing, Budhdev calmed down and forgave Madhusudan. Madhusudan's lookalike disappeared from the king's court. With the blessings of Budhdev, the king bid farewell to Madhusudan and Sangeeta. When they moved forward from there, they found a bullock cart in good condition on the way. Both of them came to Samtapur city by that cart. Then they started fasting every Wednesday, due to which their life became happy.
