Varaha (Pig/Boar) Avatar Relationship with Rahu According to Astrology

Varaha (Pig/Boar) Avatar Relationship with Rahu According to Astrology

Varaha Avatar is the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In Tamil language, Varham means pig or boar. According to legend, Lord Vishnu took this incarnation to protect the earth, which Hiranyaksha hid in the ocean.

Once there was a demon named Hiranyaksha, he prayed to Lord Brahma and got a boon that he would be invincible in battle. Then Hiranyaksha went to heaven and defeated all the gods and captured heaven. He also conquered the ocean by fighting Varuna, thus he subdued the whole earth, and finally, he took the earth and hid it under the sea. Lord Vishnu took the form of Varaha and went to the sea. He destroyed the demon Hiranyaksha and saved the earth from him. Thus Lord Vishnu saves all the gods and the heaven and the whole earth and keeps it in his nose. This event is known as Varaha Avatar. Therefore the idol of Lord Vishnu in Dashavatara has the face of Varham.

Varaha Avatar: Divine Boar

The gatekeepers of Vaikuntha, Jay, and Vijay, the abode of Vishnu, were cursed by the four Kumaras to take birth as demons. They were then born on earth as Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu as Kashyapa and his wife Diti. He was one of the castes of demons called Daityas. The two demon brothers were pure wicked and created havoc all around.

The elder brother Hiranyaksha did penance and as a result, Brahma granted him a boon, which made him indestructible by any animal or human. He was engaged in a war with the gods. He took the earth into the depths of the primordial waters. Hiranyaksha, in his Boon, did not include the boar in the list of animals that could kill him. Therefore, Lord Vishnu incarnates as Varaha, a boar, with huge teeth, and goes into the ocean.

Varaha challenges Hiranyaksha to battle. The demon ridicules Varaha and hinders him from saving the earth. Varaha, furious, lifted the earth on his teeth and killed the demon after a thousand years of fighting.

Varaha Avatar Connection with Rahu

Lord Vishnu incarnated as a boar to save Mother Earth after Hiranyaksha stole the earth. When Rahu is acting on his higher principle, he has the ability to protect and save the universe.
