Why are you taking such a long breath? On this, Narad ji said - You have everything here, yet Mount Meru is much higher than you. Some part of its peaks have also reached Devlok. But your peaks can never reach there. Saying this, Narad ji left from there on the same path by which he had come. Hearing the words of Narad ji, Vindhya mountain became angry and started thinking that my life is a shame. And Vindhya mountain decided to do a tough penance of Lord Vishwanath Shiva and came under the shelter of Lord Bholenath.


After this, he went to the mountain where Omkar is made, installed the idol of Lord Shiva, and worshipped Bholenath Shankar for 6 months continuously. During the penance, he did not even move from his place. Seeing such a tough penance, Lord Bholenath was very pleased and showed Mandhata his form, which even the great Yogis and sages could not see. Lord Shiva asked Vindhyachal to ask for the desired boon. Praising the Lord, Vindhya said, You always love your devotees very much. If you are pleased with me, then give me such intelligence that all the tasks can be accomplished.


Giving him the desired boon, Lord Shiva said, Mountain King Vindhya, do as you wish. At the same time, pure-hearted deities and sages came there and started praying to Lord Shiva and said, O Lord, please reside here permanently and make this place holy forever. Hearing their prayers, Lord Shiva became pleased and accepted their prayers for the welfare of his world. As soon as Shiva said "Tathastu", Omkar Linga got divided into two parts. One was named Omkareshwar, and the other was named Amaleshwar. Despite the location and temple of both the Lingas being different, the form of both is considered to be the same.
