In Sanatan Dharma, an auspicious time is selected by astrologers for every auspicious work. There are many auspicious programs like Annaprashan, Karna Chedan, etc. six months after the date of birth of a Kid. 16 rituals have special importance in Hinduism and ear piercing is the ninth ritual among these 16 rituals. Karnchedan means ear piercing or ear piercing. During this ceremony, the child's ear is pierced and a gold or silver wire is worn. Under this, there is a tradition of piercing the right ear of the boy and the left ear of the girl. Karnchedan Sanskar is performed so that the hearing capacity of the child can be developed and the negativities coming into the child's life can be removed. It is said in the scriptures that one who does not perform the Karnavedha ceremony is not considered entitled to the last rites of his relatives.
Method of Performing Karnavedha Sanskar
-
Karnavedha Sanskar can be performed on the twelfth day or the sixteenth day after birth. Apart from this, it can be done in 6, 7, or 8 months from the month of birth or in odd years from the year of birth. By the way, this ceremony should be done within three to five years of the birth of the child.
-
A temple or a holy place should be chosen to perform the ear-piercing ceremony.
-
The child should be given a bath etc and dressed in new and clean clothes.
-
Before starting the Karnchedan Sanskar ceremony, one should invoke the deities and their favorite deities. You can take the help of a priest for this.
-
During this process, the parents of the child should sit facing the direction of the sun.
-
During this samskara, mantras are chanted continuously in the ear of the child.
Benefits of Ear Piercing
-
Karnavedh Sanskar increases the ability to hear and sharpens the eyesight.
-
Ear piercing reduces the risk of serious illnesses such as paralysis, hernia, deafness, and mental illness.
-
The evil forces are removed and the person attains longevity.
-
Due to this, the circulation of blood in the brain is good and the brain moves fast.
-
According to Hindu belief, ear piercing improves personality.
-
By performing this ritual, the malefic effects of Rahu and Ketu are also removed from the life of the child.
-
Apart from this, the sudden crises in life go away.

Consultation
It is believed that if a person starts any work after seeing an auspicious time, then he gets success. On the contrary, the result of work done in an inauspicious moment is always inauspicious. Just as the 12 zodiac signs travel through the ascendant for 24 hours throughout the day and night, similarly there are 30 Muhurat between day and night, as mentioned above. Tithi, Vaar, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, the position of nine planets, Malamas, Adhik Maas, Venus and Jupiter set, Pratikul Yoga, Bhadra, Shubh Lagna, Shubh Yoga, and Rahukaal are used to determine the auspicious period. Karnavedha should be done on a specific date, day, and month. That period is considered auspicious. Hindu months like Chaitra, Kartik, Aalishana, and Phalgun are considered auspicious for this ceremony. They should not do it during any eclipse. This can be done on Chaturthi, Navami, and Amavasya. The most favorable days are Thursday, Monday, and Saturday. Through online astrological consultation, you can get detailed information about Karnavedha Muhurat.
