Ravivar Vrat Katha - Ravivar ki katha

According to the story, there was an old woman whose daily routine was that she would take a bath every Sunday morning and plaster the house with cow dung and purify it. After this, she would cook food, offer it to God, and then eat herself. She had been doing this work for a long time. By doing this, her house was full of all kinds of wealth and grains.

The old woman used to bring cow dung from another old woman's cow living in the neighborhood to purify her house. The house from which the old woman brought the dung started wondering why she brought only the dung from her cow. Therefore, he started tying his cow inside the house. The old woman could not purify her house by plastering it with cow dung due to not getting cow dung on Sunday. Due to this, she neither cooked food nor offered food. Thus, she fasted without food that day. At night, she slept hungry.

At night, Lord Suryadev came into her dream and asked the reason for this. The old woman told the reason. Then God said, Mother, I am giving you a cow that will fulfill all your wishes. God blessed her with a cow, wealth, and a son. And after giving the boon of salvation, he disappeared.

When the old woman opened her eyes in the morning, she saw a very beautiful cow and calf in the courtyard. The old woman became very happy. When her neighbor saw the cow and calf tied outside the house, she became jealous. She also saw that the cow had spat out gold. She replaced that dung with the dung of her cow. By doing this daily, the old woman did not even know.

God saw that the clever neighbor was cheating the old woman, so he sent a strong storm. Due to this, the old woman tied the cow inside the house. In the morning, when she saw the cow's dung of gold, her surprise knew no bounds. Now she started tying the cow inside. On the other hand, the neighbor, out of jealousy, complained to the king that the old woman had a cow worthy of kings, which gave gold.

Hearing this, the king sent his messengers to bring the cow. The old woman kept fasting continuously in grief. On the other hand, the entire palace of the king was filled with cow dung. The king asked her to return the cow at night while she was sleeping. As soon as it was morning, the king did the same. Along with this, he also gave appropriate punishment to the neighbor. The king instructed all the citizens to keep fast. Since then all the citizens started keeping this fast. And they got happiness.
